Save A Sole is a community-powered charity initiative that provides school sandals for underserved students across Nigeria — not as handouts, but through a dignified pop-up shop experience where children “buy without money.”
By Business Beyond Skills Initiative by Sassysaint Craft Company and a coalition of leather craftsmen, this project is on a mission to ensure that at least 300 children receive quality, handcrafted school sandals by December 2025.
One morning, while taking her kids to school, our founder, Ayinla Oluwajumoke Toyosi, noticed many public-school students walking in broken, worn-out, or halved sandals — some had no shoes at all. Their clothes were neat. Their spirit was strong. But their feet told a different story.
This painful reality inspired “Save A Sole” — not just to provide footwear, but to do so in a way that preserves dignity, empowers local shoemakers, and builds community through kindness.
On a chosen day in December, shoemakers across various communities will come together to set up a mini pop-up shop(s). Students will walk in and “buy” their sandals — at no cost. It’s not a giveaway; it’s a memory of dignity.
Six+ skilled local shoemakers are coming together, donating their time and skill. All labour is free. 100% of your donation goes into materials, logistics and awareness.
Raise ₦3 million to produce 300 pairs of durable school sandals (₦10,000 per child). That’s 300 lives touched, 300 soles saved.
– 6 shoemakers, 300 children, 1 goal: Providing school footwear at no cost.
– Pop-up shop model – buy without money to preserve the children’s pride.
– Focus on dignity, empowerment, and craftsmanship.

Save A Sole is a community impact project where skilled shoemakers craft quality school sandals for underprivileged children. The sandals will be distributed through a pop-up shop experience in December, allowing children to "buy" without money — restoring dignity and pride.
This initiative is powered by Business Beyond Skills, a CSR arm under Sassysaint Craft Company and volunteer shoemakers passionate about community transformation.
Shoemakers in their local communities will craft sandals using high-quality brown leather and durable mako soles. The finished sandals will be made available at the pop-up shop(s) set up at agreed local location in the neighborhood.
Your donation covers the cost of producing the sandals (materials and basic shoemaking supplies). Every ₦10,000 donated crafts one pair of sandals — 100% of your donation goes directly into the production handled by our collaborating shoemakers and distribution logistics.
